SONA FOR LAW FIRMS

Every missed call is a missed retainer.

A caller with a new matter wants to speak to a firm today. Sona picks up, runs a structured intake, books the consultation, and briefs the attorney, even at 2 AM.

Free to start, no card. Paid plans include a local number.

Sona

Harbor & Finch, this is Sona, the firm's AI assistant. How can I help you today?

Caller

I was rear-ended last week and the insurance company keeps calling me. I think I need a lawyer.

Sona

I'm sorry that happened — you're in the right place. Two quick questions so the right attorney can review: were you injured, and have you spoken to the insurer yet?

Caller

My neck's been hurting, and no — I've been ignoring their calls.

Sona

That's exactly what the consultation is for. Ms. Finch can see you tomorrow at 2:00 or Thursday at 10:30 — which works?

Caller

Tomorrow at 2, please.

Sona

You're set for tomorrow at 2:00 PM, and Ms. Finch will have your intake notes before you walk in.

The problem

Clients hire the firm that picks up.

What it costs

First pickup

signs the client

Callers with a case don't leave voicemails — they dial the next firm on the list. The firm that answers first is usually the one retained.

Saturday night

can't wait until Monday

A crash on Sunday afternoon or an arrest on Saturday night turns into a phone call long before Monday's office hours. Whoever answers it takes the intake.

9–5

is exactly when you can't answer

Court, depositions, client meetings: the phone rings hardest during the hours your team is paid to be unreachable.

Use cases

Intake gets done while you're in court.

Consultation booking

Reads the consultation hours you set, books the slot inside the call, and emails your team the booking with a calendar file.

03

Urgent-matter triage

Court notice? Custody issue? Sona detects urgency, warm-transfers to the on-call attorney, and briefs them mid-transfer.

04

Existing-client calls

Takes the client's name and matter and puts them through to the attorney or paralegal on your list, or takes a message when they're in court.

05

After-hours coverage

Nights, weekends, trial weeks. Sona answers like your best receptionist on their best day.

06

Messages, not voicemail

Name, number, matter and urgency for every call Sona can't finish itself, in your inbox before the caller hangs up.

Every call lands somewhere. That somewhere is open.

FAQ

Questions law firms actually ask.

Does Sona give legal advice?

Never. Sona is intake-only: it gathers facts, books consultations, and routes calls. Anything resembling an advice question is deflected to an attorney, and every transcript proves it.

Is caller information confidential?

Calls are encrypted in transit, stored in your firm's workspace, and not used to train AI models. Access is role-based: editors change the setup, viewers only read. Recording is off unless you turn it on, and recordings are deleted after the retention period you set, never later than your plan's archive allows.

What happens on urgent calls?

Sona detects urgency — court dates, custody, arrests — and warm-transfers to your on-call attorney with a spoken briefing. If nobody picks up, it takes a structured message and emails the team immediately.

Can it help with conflict checks?

Sona captures the names of all parties during intake, so your team can run a proper conflict check before the consultation. No more discovering a conflict in the meeting itself.

Will callers hang up on an AI?

Sona discloses it's an AI in the first sentence, then answers at midnight the way it does at noon. Callers stay for the same reason they leave voicemail-only firms: it actually helps.
