AI receptionist · answering service · appointment booking

Your business line stops going to voicemail.

Sona picks up on a local number you choose, 24 hours a day. It books appointments into your calendar, answers questions from your own documents, and puts the caller through to your team when a person is needed.

Free to start, no card. Paid plans include a local number.

ANSWERS DAY AND NIGHT · ENGLISHDISCLOSES IT IS AN AI ON EVERY CALL

What it does

Every plan is the whole receptionist.

Tiers change how many minutes you get, not how the receptionist behaves.

01

Answering

Picks up day and night on your Sona number, and takes calls in parallel, up to your plan's limit, so a second caller is not sent to a busy signal.

02

Booking

Reads the live availability you set in the dashboard, negotiates a time, books it, and handles reschedules and cancellations — all inside the call.

03

Answers

Replies only from the documents, prices and policies you upload. When it does not know, it says so and offers a callback instead of guessing.

04

Handoff

Transfers to your team when the caller asks for a person or the matter is urgent, and briefs whoever picks up before they say hello.

05

Records

Every call transcribed and summarised in your dashboard, next to the booking or message it produced. Recording is opt-in, and callers hear a notice whenever it is on.

06

Repeat callers

A number that keeps redialing your line is blocked before it reaches the AI once it passes the per-caller limit, and those blocked calls cost nothing.

07

Disclosure

Opens every call as an AI and repeats it when a call is recorded. Asked if it is a person, it says no.

Call record · 1 m 12 s · illustrative

One call, start to finish.

This is the shape of a real call record — the transcript a manager sees in the dashboard afterwards, next to the booking and the summary (and the recording, when recording is on). The exchange itself is written, not recorded.

Caller

Hi, is there anything tomorrow? I need a cut before an interview.

Sona

I'm Sona, the AI assistant for Atlas Hair Studio. I can look at tomorrow for you. Can I take your name?

Maria Alvarez.

Thanks, Maria. I have 9:20 in the morning or 2:40 in the afternoon. Which is easier?

The morning one.

Sona

How it works

From sign-up to the first answered call.

  1. 01

    Set up the workspace

Create a workspace, no card. Load your prices and policies into the knowledge base, set the availability Sona books into, and invite the people who answer the phone today.

  2. 02

    Build your receptionist

Pick a plan and give your receptionist its voice, greeting, opening hours and tools. Editors change the setup, viewers read transcripts and bookings, and every change to the agent is versioned, so you can see what it was told and go back.

  3. 03

    Pick your number

Every paid plan comes with a local number: search an area code in the dashboard, buy it, and assign your receptionist to it. Point your existing line at it with conditional forwarding whenever you're ready.

FAQ

Before you go live.

What happens to calls while I'm setting it up?

Nothing changes. The Free plan has no receptionist and no phone line attached, so your line keeps ringing where it does today. Sona takes calls only once you pick a plan, build your receptionist and buy it a number of its own.

What number does Sona answer on?

One of its own. Every paid plan includes at least one local number: you search an area code in the dashboard, buy it there, and assign your receptionist to it. Your existing line keeps its carrier. You set conditional forwarding on it — busy, unanswered, after hours, or always — so callers reach Sona at the other end, and one dial code turns that off again.

Does it tell callers it is an AI?

Yes, at the start of every call, before anything else is discussed, and again when a call is being recorded. Asked directly whether it is a person, it answers honestly. A caller who would rather speak to someone is put through to your team.

What happens when it doesn't know the answer?

It tells the caller it doesn't have that, then offers a callback or takes a message. Answers come only from the documents, prices and policies in your knowledge base.

How does the handoff to my team work?

When a caller asks for a person, or the matter is urgent by the rules you set, Sona rings your team and briefs whoever picks up before the caller is connected, so nobody repeats themselves. If your team can't pick up, it takes a structured message — name, number, reason — and it lands in your dashboard inbox.

Can it take more than one call at once, and after hours?

Sona answers calls in parallel, within the concurrency and spend caps on your plan, so two callers at nine in the morning are both answered rather than one hearing a busy signal. A call at two in the morning is handled like one at noon: booked, transferred by your after-hours rules, or written down for the morning.

Which languages does it speak?

English. Other languages will appear on the pricing page when they ship; until then a caller who needs one is offered your team or a message.

Where do recordings and transcripts go?

Into your workspace, where your team reads them by role: editors change things, viewers only read. Recording can be enabled per workspace; when it is on, callers hear a recording notice in the greeting. Each plan keeps recordings for a set window and deletes them when it ends.

Start free. Go live when you’re ready.

Create a workspace and get your knowledge base and team ready at your own pace. When you choose a plan you build your receptionist and pick the local number Sona answers on, and everything you set up carries over.
